You see someone loving life with a horse, you dream about owning a horse, you buy a horse, you settle down with a horse and you love a horse … and then
You start doubting what you’ve done, your horse is alive and happy but you still doubt yourself. You second guess yourself, you think that you’re not quite right for the horse that you’ve owned for 4 years – that you should change.
You are still in love with your horse and you are still happy with your horse BUT where did all the love go?
Where did the love end and the comparison start? Where did the comparison start robbing the joy from the simple adoration of the equestrian world that you once had?
What happened?
This isn’t going to be a ‘how to get it back’ post, but instead a ‘you’re not alone’ post.
I don’t know, I don’t know when it starts, I don’t know when it ends and most of all, I don’t know why it exists.
It robs the happiness that comes with the world and sport that you used to wholeheartedly love.
Let’s make a pact to get it back, let’s work on keeping the love alive.
Let’s be the change that we want to see. Let’s let the horse and rider/owner partnership be the thing to grow instead of our guilt or comments about how someone rides/deals with their horse.
Let’s bring the love back!
