Everyday Kitchen Cleaning Tips

Don’t worry, I’m not about to say that I deep clean everyday just because it makes my mind better. I’m too into reading or browsing Instagram for that!!

However, I do try and do three things before bed to allow my mind to feel at rest before coming down the next morning. There is nothing more horrific than a full sink when you’re half asleep!

Fill the drainer, or dishwasher

My dishwasher is my life line, I empty and fill it all the time – borderline addiction. But there is nothing nicer than going to bed and knowing that everything is clean. If not in the dishwasher, then at least drying ready for use tomorrow.

We could either buy 20 saucepans or we could wash them up… space tells me we gotta wash them up!

Make sure that you wipe down the sides after washing up whilst you’ve got the rubber gloves on – the faff is too much if you have to take them off and back on again!!

Put out the ‘ingredients’ for the first cup

Get a tray, and lay out the mug, tea bag or tea leaves and a full kettle. This allows your half asleep brain to just remember the milk. Phew, the first cup isn’t ruined.

You can also choose which mug you want long before you need it – there is nothing worse than having no clean mugs when you need the first cup.

Let’s not be silly, we don’t want to voluntarily put ourselves through that torture.

Sweep or clean the floor

Our floor has boots, dogs, wind blowing in muck, dropped food, sloppy water and probably a million other things on it simply during the day.

And there is little more off putting than when you come down in the morning and there is a crunch under your foot.

AHHHHH THE FEARRRRR!!

Sweeping or cleaning the floor before bed will not only give you soft places to put your feet but also the full knowledge that your hygiene isn’t so bad.

What do you have to do before you can go to bed peacefully?!

Happy Kitchen Experience!

So last night I thought “empty the drainboard”. Clean, dry dishes can sit for days in my drainboard. Don’t know if I will get as far as emptying the dishwasher (that’s hubs job in the morning after I’m off to work), but it still felt like a good thing….

Oh I love that you share! Yay, so pleased for you about the drain board. There is something magical in getting it clear isn’t there!
